Term 4 — Drawing Intensive
This term Squiggler School of Art goes back to the foundation of all visual art: drawing.
Over seven Fridays starting Week 2 of Term 4, students will develop their drawing skills alongside two practising artists – Daryl Lo, founder of Squiggler School of Art and Revolve Gallery and Studios, and Justine Muller, Archibald Prize finalist and two-time finalist in the Dobell Prize for Drawing at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
This is not a copy-what-the-teacher-does drawing class. Students will learn to observe, to think on paper, and to find their own mark. Each week builds on the last, developing confidence, skill, and a genuine creative voice.
This is what it feels like to draw like an artist.
What students will experience:
- Foundational drawing skills taught by two practising professional artists
- Observation, gesture, mark-making, and composition
- Weekly exercises that build into a body of work across the term
- Individual feedback and mentorship from Daryl and Justine
- A portfolio of drawings to take home at the end of term
